Water Update
The snotel on Nevada Ridge is currently reporting 0.0 inches of s.w.e., effectively indicating the end of the record snow pack and runoff for the Nevada Creek drainage. Creek flows still remain above average for this date, but have been steadily receding through the past few days. At the current rate of decline, we can anticipate the flows to drop off the spillway at the dam within the next 7 to 10 days. The change from flood water to contract usage would soon follow. As always, substantial rain events can alter this time frame.
Both Douglas and North canals are currently in operation. While creek flows are receding, the creek is still running too high & fast to allow the installation of the diversion structures for these canals. Therefore, maintaining constant flow into the canals will be variable. Irrigators are asked to be patient with these fluctuations until installation of the diversion structures can be accomplished.
Thank you.
