Nevada Creek Update
Nevada creek is currently subsiding from the record high flows of this past Sunday & Monday. The discharge from Nevada Creek Reservoir again exceeded our established rating for the gage site below the dam, but my expanded rating and other cross reference show the discharge peaking at ~620 cfs through most of Monday. Although receding, the creek is currently still flowing at well above normal rates, and is expected to do so for some time. The upper snowpack still remains at 200% of normal for May 1. As always, you can refer to the NevadaCreek.com website for updated flow & water supply conditions.
Water Rights
It may seem an irrelevant point at this time, but as of May 1st most all Nevada creek water rights are active for their periods of diversion. It is fairly safe to say that all these rights are currently good, and many are receiving water that they really don’t care to have. That being said, please let me know if you want to start taking water “voluntarily”, it does help me a lot if only for record keeping purposes. The Current Status of Irrigation Rights has been updated and can be referred to throughout the rest of the 2018 season.
Canals: It would also be very helpful to me if irrigators who receive water via either Douglas or North canals would let me know when they have a time frame for when they will want to start taking water there. Due to the late winter conditions this spring, I still have many maintenance issues to tend to on both canals, and some projects will have to be postponed until fall.
Thanks,
