Irrigation Rights Active

Many irrigation rights for the Nevada creek drainage have become active for periods of diversion & use on April 15th, and also earlier on April 1.  I don’t imagine that too many irrigators are wanting to take water yet, but I have activated and updated the Current Status of Irrigation Rights webpage.  That page will be updated routinely now through the irrigation season.  Please contact me if you do decide to turn water on.

The inflows to Nevada Creek Reservoir have slowed substantially since the peaks of last week.  Creek flows are still well above normal for this date, but are at a much more reasonable runoff rate.  I don’t anticipate the flood level flows of last week to reoccur any time soon.  There is still a lot of remaining high level snowpack, currently at 108% of normal, but considering the current weather trend this snow should come off at a more moderate pace.  We’ll see what the weather does as this upper level runoff starts to kick in.
