Reservoir Update & Contract Water

Inflows to Nevada Creek Reservoir have been steadily dropping over the past week as downstream irrigation demand has been increasing.  Yesterday, Sunday the 9th, the reservoir dipped below capacity and is no longer in a state of spill.  Assuming continued lower inflows and steady downstream demand, we can expect reservoir storage to continue to decrease.  Therefore, beginning this Saturday, June 15th, all non-decreed water deliveries will be changed from flood water to contract usage.  Irrigators should plan their water use accordingly.

Decreed Water Use

With the reservoir off of spill, Nevada creek is now at a regulated flow.  Decreed water users will now need to inform me of your water use so that water for your decreed rights can be made available in the creek without interfering with other water users.  Currently, all water rights are good, excluding high-water rights with priority dates later than 1937.  The Current Status of Irrigation Rights page is being updated accordingly.  Please refer to it for updated information on the decreed water availability.
