I plan to begin charging Douglas canal with water later this evening, Sunday the 12th.  Irrigation water will be available to water users on this canal beginning tomorrow, Monday the 13th.  Water users on Douglas canal need to contact me by early Monday morning if you need to order water for Monday.

Currently, Nevada Creek reservoir is still at capacity with a low spill.  Therefore we will still be operating on flood water, but with slowing creek flows and as demand increases I expect this condition to be short lived.  Irrigators should anticipate a change to contract water use fairly soon.  I plan to convert to contract use as soon as storage drops off the spillway, unless substantial precipitation is in the immediate forecast.  We will also be operating with a regulated creek flow, so decreed water users on Nevada creek should also begin checking the status of decreed rights and notifying me to call for their decreed water.
